Notes

1. Skirt should be worn at the true waist; measure around belly button for size, follow the instructions for the band measurement that is closest to true waist size.

2. Skirt begins at Band in rows, then is worked in rounds downward to complete the skirt.

3. Pattern is written for 30" waist with adjustments for larger sizes in parentheses.

Instructions:

Band

Ch 109 (115, 121, 127, 133, 139).

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn — 108 (114, 120, 126, 132, 138) sc.

Row 2: Ch 2 (not a st), dc in each st across, turn —108 (114, 120, 126, 132, 138) dc.

Row 3: Ch 1 (not a st), sc in each st across, turn — 108 (114, 120, 126, 132, 138) sc.

Row 4: Repeat Row 2.

Row 5: Repeat Row 3.

Do not fasten off; continue to Skirt instructions for desired size.

Taking care not to turn or twist Band, and with Band Row 5 facing,

Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc now and throughout), dc in 1 st st of Band Row 5, [ch 1, skip 1 st, (dc, ch 3, dc) in next st, ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in next 3 sts] 17 (18, 19, 20, 21, 22) times, ch 1, skip 1 st, (dc, ch 3, dc), ch 1, dc in last, sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch-3 to join — 180 (190, 200, 210, 220, 230) sts.

Band Border

With RS of Band facing, attach yarn to end of Row 1.

Round 1: Ch 1 [not a st), sc in each sc row end, 2 sc in each dc row end on RS, working up left side, sc in side of Row 5, ch 3 (1st button hole), sc in side of Row 3, ch 3 [2nd button hole), sc in side of Row 1, rotate to work in Row 1, sc in each st across, sl st to 1 st sc to join.

Fasten off.

Buttons

Align button holes over RS of Band, opposite button holes created in Round 1. Attach buttons to 3rd dc of Band, on Row 2 and on Row 4. Using yarn needle and same color yarn from skirt, sew both buttons into place, assuring they are aligned with button holes. Fasten off and trim excess.
