Jumper knitting patternSize 36/38 (40, 42/44)

Instructions are given for first size. Figures in parenthesis refer to larger sizes. When only one Figure is given, it applies to all sizes.

Materials: 400 (450, 500) g of Lana Grossa Coco (67% cotton, 33% nylon; 115 m/50 g) in Pink/Violet/Pistachio/Orange/Turquoise (col 10).

Size 4.5 mm needles; cable needle [cn].

Rib pattern 1: Multiple of 6 + 11 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to chart. Numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows; on WS rows, work sts as they appear. Repeat rows 1 - 4 throughout, end with row 5.

Cross stitch pattern: Multiple of 6 + 5 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to chart. Numbers at left edge of chart indicate WS rows, numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows. Work row 6 [WS row] once, then work rows [7 - 10] 3 times, then work rows 11-13 once = 16 rows total.

Rib pattern 2: Multiple of 5 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to chart. Number at left edge of chart indicates WS row, numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows. On all WS rows not shown on chart, work sts as they appear.

Gauges: On size 4.5 mm needles, 19 sts and 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm in rib pat 1; 19 sts and 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm in cross st pat.

Back: With size 4.5 mm needles, cast on 91 (97, 103) sts.

Next WS row: Selvage st, p4, * k3, p3; rep from * to last 8 sts, k3, p4, selvage st. Cont in rib pat 1 following chart for 36 (37, 38) cm, ending with a chart row 4 (2, 4).

Shape armholes: For size 36/38, work chart rows 1 - 4 and bind off 3 sts at beg of each row.

Next RS row: Bind off 2 sts, work chart row 5 to end.

Next WS row: Bind off 2 sts, work chart row 6 [= cross st pat] to end.

Cont in cross st pat and bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st at beg of next 4 rows = 67 sts.

For size 40, work chart rows 3 and 4 and bind off 3 sts at beg of each row, then work chart rows 1 - 2 and bind off 3 sts at beg of each row, then work chart rows 3 and 4 and bind off 2 sts at beg of each row.

Next RS row: Bind off 2 sts, work chart row 5 to end.

Next WS row: Bind off 2 sts, work chart row 6 [= cross st pat] to end.

Cont in cross st pat and bind off 1 st at beg of next 4 rows = 73 sts.

For size 42/44, work chart rows 1 - 4 and bind off 3 sts at beg of each row. Work chart rows 1 - 4 once more and bind off 2 sts at beg of each row.

Next RS row: Bind off 1 st, work chart row 5 to end.

Next WS row: Bind off 1 st, work chart row 6 [= cross st pat] to end. Cont in cross st pat and bind off 1 st at beg of next 2 rows = 79 sts.

For all sizes: Work a total of 16 rows in cross st pat as instructed.

Next WS row: Work chart row 14 [= rib pat 2], decreasing 10 (11, 12) sts as shown on chart = 57 (62, 67) sts. Work rows 15 - 19 once, then bind off all sts in pat on next WS row.

Front: Work same as for back.

Sleeves: With size 4.5 mm needles, cast on 47 sts.

Next WS row: Selvage st, p3, * k3, p3; rep from * to last st, selvage st.

Cont in rib pat 1 following chart and shape sleeve as foll: Inc 1 st at beg and end of 11 th (9th, 7th) row, then every foil 10th row 8 times (then every foll 10th row twice, then every foll 8th row 8 times / then every alternating 6th and 8th row 12 times) = 65 (69, 73) sts.

Work increased sts into rib pat 1. Cont until sleeve measures 47 cm from cast-on, ending with a WS row.

Shape sleeve cap: Bind off 3 (3, 4) sts ot beg of next 2 rows, then 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 1 st ot beg of next 18 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 8 rows, 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows (then 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows, 1 st at beg of next 16 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 6 rows, 3 sts at beg of next 4 rows / then 2 sts at beg of next 6 rows, 1 st at beg of next 14 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 6 rows, 3 sts at beg of next 4 rows). Bind off remaining 15 sts.

Finishing: Pin pieces to measurements and block. Sew shoulder seams, leaving center 24 cm open for neck. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.
