Pattern Notes

The shawl is worked in the round from the center out, beginning with a Turkish cast-on worked onto 2 circular needles.

The first stitch on each needle is marked with a removable marker. Use the free end of 1 circular needle to work across the stitches on that needle. When you have enough stitches, you may work all of the stitches onto 1 needle. Once all of the stitches are combined onto 1 needle, you may continue to use the removable markers to separate the 2 lace patterns, or you may remove the markers and place a ring marker before each of the marked stitches.

When joining new yarn, join within a cable section to make it easier to weave in ends.

Shawl

Using Turkish cast-on, cast on 49 sts onto each of the 2 needles—98 sts.

Place removable marker around first st on each needle; move marker up as you go.

Set-up rnd: [K1 (marked st), work Lace pat to end of needle] twice (starting pat over from beg on 2nd needle)—102 sts.

Note: When there are enough sts to do so, work all sts with 1 circular needle instead of 2.

Work Rnds 2-16 of pat once, then rep [Rnds 1-16] 4 times—418 sts.

Edging

Rnd 1: [K1, yo, knit to marked st, yo] twice—422 sts.

Rnd 2: [K1, yo, purl to marked st, yo] twice—426 sts.

Rnds 3 and 4: Rep Rnds 1 and 2—434 sts. Bind off using Stretchy Bind-Off.

Finishing

Weave in ends.

Block by dampening and pinning out on blocking surface, using 2 pins to pin the top of each cable column to create the slightly scalloped edge. Let dry completely before moving.
