YARN

DROPS Alpaca (4ply weight; 100% alpaca, 167m/183yds per 50g ball)

NEEDLES

1 set 3.75mm (UK 9/US 5) circular needles, 80cm long

1 set 3.75mm (UK 9/US 5) circular needles, 40cm long

1 pair 3.75mm (UK 9/US 5) knitting needles (optional - circular needles can be used)

TENSION

19 sts and 32 rows to 10cm over Chart B patt on 3.75mm needles.

Note: When measuring the body, stretch the fabric and pin to simulate blocking.

This will give more accurate measurements.

PATTERN NOTES

SHORT ROWS

Wrap and turn (w&t) on knit rows:

Take yarn between needles to front of work, slip the next st pwise from the LH to RH needle, take yarn between needles to back of work, slip the st back to the LH needle, turn wrork.

Wrap and turn (w&t) on purl rows:

Take yarn between needles to back of work, slip the next st pwise from LH to RH needle, take yarn between needles to front of work, slip the st back to LH needle, turn work.

Knit stitch and wrap together on a knit row:

Insert RH needle up through the wrap then into the stitch. Knit stitch and wrap together.

Purl st and wrap together on a purl row:

From the knit side of work, lift the wrap and place it in front of the purl stitch. Purl stitch and wrap together.

THREE-NEEDLE CAST-OFF

Hold two pieces with RS together and needles parallel: *K1 st from front needle and 1 st from back needle tog; rep from * then cast off 1 st. Repeat this sequence until all sts are cast off.

Round 1: (Yo, K3, sk2po, K3, yo, K1) to end.

Round 2 and all even-numbered rounds: K to end.

Round 3: (K1, yo, K2, sk2po, K2, yo, K2) to end.

Rep last 2 rounds 2 more times.

Round 7: Purl.

COMMENCE CHART A

Round 1: Work round 1 of Chart A, working the 10-st rep 18 (20:22:24:26) times.

Round 2: Knit.

Round 3: Work round 3 of Chart A, working the 10-st rep 18 (20:22:24:26) times.

Round 4: Knit.

Continue working through all 20 rounds of Chart A once.

COMMENCE CHART B

Round 1: Work round 1 of Chart B, working the 10-st rep 18 (20:22:24:26) times.

Round 2: Knit.

Round 3: Work round 3 of Chart B, working the 10-st rep 18 (20:22:24:26) times.

Round 4: Knit.

BACK

Place 90 (100:110:120:130) sts for front on hold and continue working on back.

Change to straight needles if preferred.

FINISHING

Join shoulder sts by working a three-needle cast-off on the WS. (See Pattern Notes.)

NECK EDGE

Using 3.75mm circular needles, 40cm long, starting at the left shoulder with RS facing, pick up and K32 (34:35:36:36) sts to front neck, K26 (26:28:30:30) sts from front neck, pick up and K32 (34:35:36:36) sts to right shoulder, pick up and K5 sts to back neck, K30 (30:32:34:34) sts from back neck, pick up and K5 sts to left shoulder. Join to work in the round.

130 (134:140:146:146) sts.

Round 1: Purl.

Round 2: Knit.

Rep last 2 rounds once more.

Cast off purlwise.

ARMHOLE EDGE

Using 3.75mm circular needles, 40cm long, starting at the underarm, pick up and K4 (5:6:7:8) from the underarm cast-off, pick up and K43 (47:50:52:53) sts to shoulder, pick up and K43 (47:50:52:53) to underarm, K4 (5:6:7:8) from underarm cast-off. Join to work in the round.

94 (104:112:118:122) sts.

Round 1: Purl.

Round 2: Knit.

Rep last 2 rounds once more.

Cast off purlwise.

Weave in all loose ends.

Block garment carefully to measurements, following any yarn care instructions on the ball band.
