King Cole Bamboo Cotton DK 50% cotton, 50% bamboo (approx 230m per 100g)

4[4:4:5:5:5] x 100g balls 635 Lawn

1 pair each 3.25mm and 4mm needles

1 cable needle

Note: Yarn amounts given are based on average requirements and are approximate.

TENSION

22 sts and 28 rows to 10cm over st st using 4mm needles.

Use larger or smaller needles if necessary to obtain correct tension.

ABBREVIATIONS

C7 = slip next 3 sts on cn to front of work, k4, then k3 from cn

FRONT

With 4mm needles cast on 95[105:117:129:139:151] sts.

Knit 3 rows.

Work in patt as folls:

Row 1 (RS): K3[3:4:5:5:6], (yf, k3, sk2po, k3, yf, k1) to last 2[2:3:4:4:5] sts, k to end.

Row 2 and every alt row: Purl.

Row 3: K4[4:5:6:6:7], (yf, k2, sk2po, k2, yf, k3) to last 1[1:2:3:3:4] sts, k to end.

Row 5: K5[5:6:7:7:8], (yf, k1, sk2po, k1, yf, k5) to last 0[0:1:2:2:3] sts, k0[0:1:2:2:3].

Row 7: K6[6:7:8:8:9], (yf, sk2po, yf, k7) to last 9[9:10:11:11:12] sts, yf, sk2po, yf, k6[6:7:8:8:9].

Rows 9 to 24: Rep Rows 1 to 8 twice.

Rows 25, 27, 29 and 31: As Row 7.

Row 33: K6[6:7:8:8:9], (yf, sk2po, yf, C7) to last 9[9:10:11:11:12] sts, yf, sk2po, yf, k6[6:7:8:8:9].

Rows 35, 37 and 39: As Row 7.

Shape cap sleeves

Still working in patt work 6 rows inc 1 st at each end of every row working extra sts in st st. 107[117:129:141:151:163] sts.

Cast on 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows. 115[125:137:149:159:171] sts

Place a marker or coloured thread 20 sts in from end of last row.

Next row: K17[17:18:19:19:20], (yf, skpo, k8) to last 18[18:19:20:20:21] sts, yf, skpo, k16[16:17:18:18:19].

Patt section is now complete. **

Work in st st for remainder and beg p row for WS work 4[4:6:8:10:12] rows straight.

Shape neck

Next row: P57[62:68:74:79:85], cast off next st (centre st) very firmly, p to end.

Cont on last group of sts for left half of neck.

Next row: K to last 6 sts, k2tog, k4.

Next row: P4, p2tog, p to end.

Rep last 2 rows 3 times more. 49[54:60:66:71:77] sts

Dec 1 st inside neck edge on next row then every foll k row only until 36[40:46:51:55:60] sts rem.

Work a few rows straight until work meas 15[16:17:19:20:21]cm (6[6.25:6.75:7.5:8:8.5]in) from marker, ending at sleeve edge.

Shape shoulder

Cast off 9[10:11:13:14:15] sts at beg of next row and 2 foll alt rows.

Work 1 row. 9[10:13:12:13:15] sts.

Cast off.

With RS facing, rejoin yarn neatly to rem sts.

Next row: K4, skpo, k to end.

Next row: P to last 6 sts, p2tog tbl, p4.

Complete to match left half.

BACK

Work as Front to ** ignoring reference to marker.

Cont straight in st st until work meas same as Front to shoulder shaping, ending after a p row. 115[125:137:149:159:171] sts.

Shape shoulders

Working centre 51[53:53:57:59:61] sts in g st and remainder in st st, cast off 9[10:11:13:14:15] sts at beg of next 6 rows, then 9[10:13:12:13:15] sts at beg of next 2 rows. Cast off rem 43[45:45:47:49:51] sts.

ARMHOLE BORDERS

Join shoulders.

With 3.25mm needles, RS facing, pick up and k64[68:74:80:86:92] sts evenly along Sleeve edge.

Work 6 rows in g st.

Cast off loosely knitwise.

TO FINISH OFF

Press work on WS pressing patt portions very lightly.

Join side seams and armhole borders.

Press seams.
