Materials

1 skein of Noro/KFI Silk Garden Sock in #S211, #S359, or #S373

One pair size 4 (3.5mm) needles, OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Size D-3 (3.25mm) crochet hook 

Gauge

22 sts and 34 rows = 4"/10cm over St st using size 4 (3.5mm) needles.

TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

Chevron Pattern

(multiple of 13 sts plus 1)

Note To work stripes in the chevron pat, divide the skein of yarn into 2 separate balls (A and B). Beg each ball with distinctly different colors to achieve the most contrast in the stripes.

Row 1 (WS) With A, purl.

Row 2 (RS) With A, k1, *yo, k4, [k2tog] twice, k4, yo, k1; rep from * to end.

Row 3 With A, knit.

Row 4 With A, rep row 2.

Rows 5-8 With B, rep rows 1-4.

Rep rows 1-8 for chevron pat.

Mitt

With A, cast on 40 sts.

Work rows 1-8 of chevron pat 7 (8) times, then rep rows 1-3 once more.

Bind off in pat.

Sew cast-on and bound-off edges tog, leaving center chevron unseamed for thumb opening.

Aligning mitt so that peak of unseamed chevron is on back side of hand, with either A or B, work a row of sc evenly around upper edge of wrister.

With either A or B, work 3 rnds of sc evenly around lower edge of mitt.
