The tops of single crochet rows form a "rib", which looks like a chain stitch on right side of work. The tops of slip stitch rows appear on wrong side. The single crochet rows are worked behind the "rib" rows and into front loop of slip stitch rows.
For perfectly matched color bands in both Slippers, note which color in the variegation series is used at start of first Slipper and use same point in color series for the second Slipper.
Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
