Slipper socks crochet patterns

Slipper socksSIZES

Sockfits Women's shoe sizes 5-6 (7-8, 9-10).

Directions are for size Small. Changes for sizes Medium and Large are in parentheses.

GAUGE

11 sts = 4" (10 cm); 12 rows = 4" (10 cm) in single crochet with 2 strands held together.

Check your gauge. Change hook size to obtain correct gauge.

YARN WEIGHT #4 medium

SPECIAL STITCH

Sc2tog: [Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

SPECIAL TECHNIQUE

Join with sc: Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated stitch,yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.

NOTES

• Socks are made with 2 strands of yarn held together throughout. Laces are made with one strand.

• Upper piece of slipper is worked from toe up and then divides to cover sides and back of foot.

• Ankle is worked in continuous rounds.

•To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Cut old color.

MATERIALS

#334 Buff (A)

#316 Soft White (B)

#885 Delft or #254 Pumpkin (C)

Crochet hooks: H-8 (5mm) and J-10 (6 mm)

Large-eyed blunt needle

Stitch marker

*Red Heart® Super Saver®yarn and Susan Bates® hooks were used for this project.

INSTRUCTIONS

Sole (make 2)

With A, ch 5.

Row 1: Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 2 sc in last ch, turn—6 sc.

Row 2: (RS) Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn—8 sc.

Rows 4-13: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Rows 14 and 15: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each remaining sc across, turn—6 sc.

Rows 16-22 (24, 26): Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 23 (25,27): Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in the next 2 sc, sc2tog; change to B,turn—4 sc.

Edging Round (RS): Ch 1, working across sts, in ends of rows, and in opposite side of foundation ch, 54 (58, 62) sc evenly around. Fasten off.

Upper (make 2)

With B, ch 3.

Row 1: (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, 3 sc in last ch; working in opposite side of foundation ch, sc in first ch, turn—5 sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first sc, 2 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc in last sc, turn—8 sc.

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 2 sc, turn—10 sc.

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; change to C, turn.

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, turn—12 sc.

Rows 8 and 9: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Row 10: Ch 1, sc in first 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 3 sc, turn—14 sc.

Row 11: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Size Large Only

Row 12: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

All Sizes

Row 12 (12, 13): Ch 1, sc in first 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, turn—16 sc.

Rows 13 and 14 (13-15, 14-17): Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

First Side

Row 15 (16, 18): Ch 1, sc in first 5 sc; leave remaining sts unworked, turn—5 sc.

Rows 16-27 (17-29, 19-31): Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Fasten off.

Second Side

With wrong (right, right) side of up per facing, join C with sc in first un worked st (5 th un worked st from edge, 5th unworked stfrom edge).

Row 15 (16, 18): Sc in next 4 sc, turn—5 sc.

Rows 16-27 (17-29, 19-31): Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Do not fasten off.

Joining Row

Hold wrong sides of last rows together; working through both thickness and in ends of rows, slip st edges together (back seam made); change to B—5 slip sts. Do not turn.

Edging Round (right side): With right side facing, ch 1, working in sts, ends of rows, and in opposite side of foundation ch, 54 (58, 62) sc evenly around; join with slip st in first sc. Do not fasten off.

Assembly

Place wrong side of sole against edges of upper, aligning center back of sole with back seam.

Rnd 1: Working through both thicknesses, slip st in each st around; join with slip st in first st. Fasten off.

Ankle

Join C with sc in any st at back of sock. Place marker for beginning of round and move marker up as each round is completed. Do not join at end of each round until instructed.

Rnd 1: Sc in each st and in end of each row around.

Rounds 2-9 (10,11): Sc in each st around; join with slip st in first st at end of last round.

Shoelaces (make 2)

With smaller hook and single strand of B, work as many ch as needed for 36" (91.5 cm) length. Fasten off.

Using photograph as a guide, weave and cross shoelace through front of sock and tie in a bow under top edge of sock.

Finishing Weave in ends.
