FINISHING

Block gently to measurements, following any yarn care instructions on the ball band.

Note: when picking up sts, take care that the same number of sts is picked up from equivalent parts of the pattern.

Starting at top of front (but missing out the facing), pick up and knit 93 sts down side of bag (18 sts along the border, 3 sts from each half hexagon, 2 sts from the end of each whole hexagon and 1 st from each garter st ridge, and 1 st from lower edge), 85 sts a long lower edge of bag and 93 sts up side of bag (taking care to match distribution of sts along first border). 271 sts.

Holding right side of strap/gusset and front together, join front to gusset along first side seam, lower edge and second side seam using a three-needle cast-off. Cast off rem sts on this edge of strap/gusset.

Remove the lockable stitch marker, then carefully remove waste yarn from strap/gusset and transfer sts to a 3mm circular needle.

Pick up sts around back, as described for front.

Holding right side of strap/gusset and back together, join back to gusset along first side seam, lower edge and second side seam gusset using a three-needle cast-off. Cast off rem sts on this edge of strap/gusset.

Sew in loose ends.

LINING BAG

Cut pieces from the lining fabric as detailed in the information panel.

Press, pin and sew the gusset lining down one side, along the base and up the second side of the front lining. Repeat with the back lining. Pin and sew the strap lining to the gusset lining on each side.

Place the lining inside the bag. Fold the front and back facing down over the top of the front and back. Pin and slip stitch into place. Pin the strap lining to the strap, then slip stitch along each edge.
