1 pair each 9mm and 10mm needles
1 circular 9mm needle 80cm long
4 stitch markers

TENSION
10 sts and 13 rows to 10cm over Lace Pattern using 10mm needles.
Use larger or smaller needles if necessary to obtain correct tension.
PATTERN NOTES
Lace Pattern (6 + 2 sts)
Row 1 (RS): P1, (p1, yo, ssk, k2tog, yo, p1) to last st, p1 (8 sts).
Row 2: K1, (k1, p4, k1) to last st, k1.
Row 3: P1, *p1, k2tog, (yo) twice, ssk, p1, rep from * to last st, p1.
Row 4: K1, (k1, p1, p1 in first yo, k1 in 2nd yo, p1, k1) to last st, k1.
Row 5: P1, (k2tog, yo, p2, yo, ssk) to last st, p1.
Row 6: K1, (p2, k2, p2) to last st, k1.
Row 7: P1, (yo, ssk, p2, k2tog, yo) to last st, p1.
Row 8: K1, (k1, p1, k2, p2) to last st, k1.
BACK
With 10mm needles, cast on 86(96:106:116] sts.
Row 1 (RS): K3[2:1:3], work Lace Pattern Row 1 across 80(92:104:110] sts, k3[2:1:3].
Row 2: P3[2:1:3], work Lace Pattern Row 2 across 80(92:104:110] sts, p3[2:1:3].
These 2 rows set patt - centre 80(92:104:110] sts in Lace Pattern and edge sts in st st.
Work one full 8-row patt rep then pm at beg and end of next row (Row 1).
Cont in patt till nine full 8-row patt reps have been completed.
Pm at beg and end of next row (Row 1). Complete this 8-row patt.
Cast off.
ARM EDGINGS
With RS facing and straight 9mm needles, pick up and k35 sts between markers.
Row 1 (WS): (P2, k2) to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 2 (RS): (K2, p2) to last 2 sts, k2.
Rep last 2 rows once more.
Cast off on WS in patt.
Rep for the other arm edging.
Match stitch markers and sew down from these to the cast on/cast off edge.
EDGING
With RS facing and circular 9mm needles, starting at centre bottom of back, pick up and k168[188:232:228] sts around edge of shrug.
Rib rnd: (K2, p2) to end.
Work 9 more rnds.
Cast off.
TO FINISH OFF
