FINISHING

Block the garment to the desired measurements, pinning out the lace pattern to accentuate the scalloped edges. Weave in the end of yarn at the bottom edge.

Using the tail end of yarn at the top corner, make a loop large enough to hold the button, and secure. Attach the button to the opposite side using scrap yarn.

With matching thread, attach two strips of ribbon to the inside back edge, each one approximately 5cm in from the button and button loop. Make sure to place them on a 'bump' rather than a 'dip' in the scalloped edge to preserve the shape.

While trying on the garment, pin the fronts of the straps so that they are the perfect length for you, remembering to attach them to a 'bump'. Sew the front of each strap to the inside front edging.

Weave the ribbon through the eyelet holes, cut to your preferred length and tie in a bow.
