Chevron Pattern

(over multiple of 18 sts)

Rows 1 and 3 (RS) Knit.

Rows 2 and 4 Purl.

Row 5 *[P2tog] 3 times, [k1, yo] 6 times, [p2tog] 3 times; rep from * to end.

Row 6 Purl.

Rep rows 1-6 for chevron pat.

Stripe Pattern

Working in chevron pat, work 18 rows in B, 6 rows in C, 6 rows in A, 6 rows in C.

Rep these 36 rows for stripe pattern.


Chevron pattern may be worked following text or chart. Stripes begin with different colors for each size so that all sizes will end with B at shoulder.


With A, cast on 94 (110, 130) sts.

Row 1 (RS) K2, *p2, k2; rep from * to end.

Row 2 (WS) *P2, k2; rep from *, end p2.

Rep rows 1 and 2 for k2, p2 rib for 8 rows more, end with a WS row and dec 2 (0, 2) sts on last row—92 (110, 128) sts.

Beg chevron pat

Note Use color indicated for size.

Row 1 (RS) With C (A, C), k1 (selvage st), work 18-st pattern rep 5 (6, 7) times, k1 (selvage st).

Row 2 (WS) With C (A, C), p1, work chart as established to last st, p1.

For size Small/Medium

Cont to work pat in this way through row 6.

For size Large/1X

Cont to work pat in this way through row 6, then work 6 rows in pat with C.

For size 2X/3X

Cont to work pat in this way through row 6, then work 6 rows in pat with A, 6 rows with C.

For all sizes, beg stripe pat

Cont in pat, working selvage sts in St st, work 36 rows of stripe pat 3 times, then work rows 1-18 once more.

With B, knit 1 row, purl 1 row.

Next row (RS) With B, purl.

With B, bind off knitwise on WS.


Work same as for back.


With A, cast on 50 (54, 58) sts.

Work in rib as for back for 10 rows. Inc 1 st each side on next row, then every 6th row 7 times more—66 (70, 74) sts. Work even until piece measures 12"/30.5cm from beg, end with a WS row. Bind off in pat.


Sew first and last 5 1/2 (7 1/2, 9 1/2)"/14 (19, 24)cm at top of back and front tog for shoulder seams, leaving 9"/23cm unseamed for neck opening.

Place markers at front and back side edges 7 1/2 (8, 8 1/2)"/19 (20.5, 21.5)cm down from shoulder seams on front and back.

Sew tops of sleeves between markers, stretching slightly to fit. Sew sleeve and side seams. Block lightly to measurements.
